to promote the interests of Management Scientists in Southern Africa in accordance with identified needs by creating and developing a forum for the discussion of appropriate management education and research;

to encourage and extend appropriate developments in Business Management in Southern Africa pre-eminently with a view to future challenges and demands;

to serve as a forum for the exchange of research expertise in the Management and Economics Science by means of conferences and congresses at both the international and national levels;

·

to initiate the collection and processing of relevant information in the field of Management, and to make this information available to interested parties by means of, amongst others, publications;

to encourage local and international contact in the interests of Management Scientists in Southern Africa, and

·

to promote the status of Management Scientists.
