Reimagining the Role of Management Associations in a Turbulent World

This panel provocation aims to spark critical reflections on the role of management associations in a turbulent world. Drawing on the recently launched manifesto for responsible management studies, Societa Italiana di Management (SIMA) representatives will set out four pillars of responsible management studies – greater impact, evolving methodological approaches for addressing complexity, a renewed research agenda, and an assumption of responsibility for the common good. Our invited discussant will then respond to these initial provocations before we open the floor for discussion from the audience. Together, we ask ourselves in what ways might management associations be required to change in order to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
