Through the IFSAM General Assembly’s committee on awards, the Federation has named the following colleagues as recipients of the IFSAM Awards:

Winner Anna Kim from McGill University, Canada Honoured with the IFSAM Award for Excellence in Societally Relevant Management Scholarship
[Brussels, Belgium] — The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) is pleased to announce that Anna Kim, William Dawson Scholar and Associate Professor in Management for Sustainability at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University has been awarded the prestigious IFSAM Award for Excellence in Societally Relevant Management Scholarship for her exceptional contribution to advancing societal well-being through management research.
Established in 2021, the IFSAM Award for Excellence in Societally Relevant Management Scholarship recognises outstanding published research that improves our understanding of how management scholarship can tackle societal challenges at both local and global levels. The award demonstrates IFSAM’s commitment to fostering research that enhances academic knowledge and generates a meaningful positive impact on society.
The Awards Committee was highly impressed by Professor Kim’s body of work which incorporates social entrepreneurship, Indigenous entrepreneurship, and linguistic inclusiveness. Through her impact-driven agenda, Anna conveys a passion, dedication and commitment to research and scholarship that advances a societally relevant agenda and the committee commends her sustained pursuit of impactful scholarship.

[Brussels, Belgium] — The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) is pleased to announce that Professor Lorena Álvarez- Castañón from University of Guanajuato, Mexico has been judged Highly Commended in the prestigious IFSAM Award category for Excellence in Societally Relevant Management Scholarship for her significant contribution to addressing societal challenges through management research.
Established in 2021, the IFSAM Award for Excellence in Societally Relevant Management Scholarship recognises outstanding published research that improves our understanding of how management scholarship can tackle societal challenges at both local and global levels. The award demonstrates IFSAM’s commitment to fostering research that enhances academic knowledge and generates a meaningful positive impact on society.

Winner Magdalena Ordoñez from Catholic University of Cuenca, Ecuador honoured with the IFSAM Award for Excellence in Indigenous Management Scholarship
[Brussels, Belgium] — The International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM) is pleased to announce that Professor Magdalena Ordoñez from the Catholic University of Cuenca, Ecuador has been awarded the prestigious IFSAM Award for Excellence in Indigenous Management Scholarship for her outstanding contribution to the advancement of indigenous management research.
Established in 2021, the IFSAM Award for Excellence in Indigenous Management Scholarship recognises and celebrate exceptional indigenous research within the realm of business and management. The award reflects IFSAM’s commitment to promoting and acknowledging dedication to advancing indigenous perspectives in the field of business and management.
The Awards Committee was deeply impressed by Prof Ordoñez’ sustained attention to locally embedded organisational forms in indigenous and community-based contexts. The Committee noted the significance and depth of impact associated with her work and particularly her focus on community wellbeing and social justice in the rural and indigenous territories of the southern Andean region of Ecuador.
