IFSAM Council has elected council member Xavier Castañer (EURAM VP ER) as IFSAM president-elect; he will become IFSAM president for 2021-2022 period. Best wishes to him.
Prof. Castañer states:
based on my experience in the governance in several scholarly associations in management (AOM, SMS and EURAM) and the relations I have built thanks in particular to my role as EURAM VP for external relations since 2017 I believe I can contribute to the development of IFSAM which I think is a much needed integrative and federative actor in management academia in general and for scholarly associations in particular across the world.
As IFSAM president elect for the rest of 2020, I will chair the scientific and organizing committee for IFSAM 2020 online congress in conjunction with EURAM 2020 in December. The IFSAM 2020 program will have at least four panels dealing with the challenges in covid times and beyond for management education, research and practice, as well as for scholarly management associations across the world, respectively.
As IFSAM president 2021-2022, I will do my best to reinvigorate IFSAM by bringing in new members to fulfill its mission, try to improve its governance to generate more valuable activities for the member associations and create standing, permanent active council and advisory committees on the topics of management education, research and practice, which will produce biannual reports.
I am honored and grateful for the confidence the other Council members have entrusted in me.
I look forward to cooperating with the rest of the IFSAM executive committee and Council members to further IFSAM mission and membership.
