First day
Our Council celebrated today (16/10/2020) the first day session of its annual meeting, for the first time online, due to the #covid19 pandemic. In attendance Council members representing AODN, CNEMA from China, EUROPEAN ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT, FNEGE, IFEAMA, the Japanese Association of Business Administration (JABA), and the Nepalese Academy of Management as well as leaders of ANPAD and the Irish Academy of Management as observers. Discussed among other topics: updates from member associations since July 2019 (mainly adaptation to covid), reduced membership fees for associations from developing countries and/or small membership, and the upcoming IFSAM 2020 online conference: https://lnkd.in/dkcamxk
Second day
In its second day of meetings (17/10/2020), the Council decided, among other topics, to:
1- celebrate the 30 years’ anniversary of the federation on December 8th, 2020, with an online event where former leaders of IFSAM will be honored for their contributions and service to the federation. Past president Michael J Morley, President Yang Zhang, Treasurer (and former president) Yvon Pesqueux and President-elect Xavier Castañer will deliver speeches about the past 30 years and future plans of IFSAM. The full program and Zoom link will be announced shortly.
2- institute 7 IFSAM awards to recognize contributions to relevant, worldwide and indigenous research, outstanding pedagogy and service and management practice.
The Council benefited this time for the additional presence of Phylis Lan Lin representing AODN, Felicia J. Sun representing CNEMA and Isabelle Bouty, president of AIMS Stratégie as observer. Thanks to the three of them and all the other attendees.
