The countdown has begun. IFSAM is delighted to announce the final programme for its 18th Biennial World Congress, taking place online on 7 and 8 July 2026 under the theme “The Role of Management Associations in Turbulent Times”.
At a time when geopolitical tensions, technological disruption, societal change and new expectations of management scholarship are reshaping the global landscape, the Congress will bring together scholars, association leaders, journal editors and educators from around the world to explore one central question: what role should management associations play in helping our community navigate uncertainty?
Designed to be inclusive and accommodate participants across different time zones, the Congress will be delivered twice, offering the same programme with some variations in speakers, enabling colleagues from every region of the world to take part.
The programme combines keynote moments with interactive discussions, practical workshops and opportunities for networking and exchange.
The Congress will open with a welcome address from IFSAM President Nic Beech, setting the stage for two days of reflection on the future of management associations. It will then feature a Panel Provocation entitled Reimagining the Role of Management Associations in a Turbulent World, where distinguished international scholars will challenge conventional thinking and present the Manifesto for Responsible Management before opening the discussion to participants through an interactive Q&A. The Congress will also celebrate excellence across the IFSAM community through the announcement of the 2026 IFSAM Awards.
Following the plenary programme, participants will choose among four parallel sessions, each addressing a key challenge facing management education, research and practice today.
A practical workshop on Generative AI in Management Education will provide hands-on insights into the use of AI tools in teaching, assessment and research. A second session on Indigenising Management Education and Research will bring together international perspectives on pluralising management knowledge and embracing diverse epistemologies. Another panel will explore Publishing and Sharing Research in Turbulent Times, bringing together leading journal editors to discuss responsible AI, peer review and the future of scholarly publishing. Finally, the Member Showcase will highlight inspiring initiatives from IFSAM member associations, demonstrating how management communities across the world are responding to contemporary challenges through collaboration, innovation and engagement.
Together, these sessions reflect the breadth of the IFSAM community and its commitment to addressing the most pressing issues shaping the future of management scholarship.
The Congress has been designed as a space for dialogue bringing together different regions, traditions and perspectives to collectively reflect on how management associations can continue to create value for their members and for society.
We are proud to present such a programme, that showcases the diversity, expertise and collaborative spirit of the global IFSAM network. Whether you are interested in artificial intelligence, responsible research, scholarly publishing, management education, or the evolving role of professional associations, the Congress offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from across the world.

We look forward to welcoming you online on 7 and 8 July 2026 as we shape, together, the future of management associations in turbulent times.
