Our president, Xavier Castañer participated today in the closing special session of the 5th LIC congress this time online at the kind invitation of Prof. Skandrani. This session focused on the challenges of management research. The LIC congress assembles researchers from and in Tunisia in different management subfields (accounting, finance, marketing, strategy,…), an extraordinary achievement. Our member association ATC is one of the partner co-organizers of LIC.

Our president congratulated the congress organizers for their resilience and success, particularly in these difficult pandemic times, during which faculty have experienced and are still experiencing accrued demands.

Our president spoke in French about IFSAM and its contextualized approach as a central value enshrined in our statutes, after Hela Yousfi’s brilliant intervention, with whom he engaged in a dialogue regarding the dynamics of management research in the international scene. The session was moderated by Wafa Khlif, ATC VP and one of two representatives of ATC in our General Assembly (GA).

Professor Castañer briefly described the recent IFSAM GA position statement on management research calling for a renewed emphasis on scholarship, engaged and decent. He also encouraged dialogue among different communities within and across countries, and in particular the need to be aware and disclose ones values and train new generations in knowing and being conversant with different research communities.
